Inside CryoLogistics: A Q&A with CEOs Charlie and JiJi
Over the past two posts, we’ve talked about why IVF Together chose to collaborate with CryoLogistics and what makes their approach to reproductive cell transport so unique. But behind every thoughtful company are the people who built it.
In this final post, I sit down with CryoLogistics CEOs Charlie and JiJi to talk about their vision, the values that shape their work, and how they support intended parents during one of the most delicate stages of fertility treatment.
When you understand the heart behind a company, it makes placing your trust that much easier.
What inspired you to start CryoLogistics?
CryoLogistics was created because we saw a need for a more personal and supportive approach to fertility transport. This part of the IVF journey is deeply emotional, yet it is often treated as purely logistical. We wanted to build a company where intended parents feel supported, can reach a real person at any time, and even meet us face to face, knowing their reproductive material is being handled with care and respect.
How did your background prepare you for working in such a sensitive and specialized field?
Our team brings over ten years of experience in cryogenic transport logistics and more than forty years of experience building and leading businesses. That combination allows us to operate with precision while always keeping people at the center of what we do. We understand both the technical responsibility and the emotional importance behind every transport.
Can you walk us through what a typical transport looks like from first contact to delivery?
Every transport begins with a personal consultation. From there, we contact your clinics and make sure all documentation needed is provided. Then, we focus on thoughtful planning and coordinating the transport, all while ensuring the experience feels calm, supported, and well-managed.
What Makes cryologistics different from other trANSPORT OPTIONS?
CryoLogistics is a boutique, family-owned company built around one belief: every transport represents someone’s dream of becoming a parent.
We are not a high-volume provider, and we don’t treat cases like transactions. When intended parents choose CryoLogistics, they will never feel like a reference number, a shipment label, or a line on an invoice. They will feel supported, understood, and cared for because that is exactly how we operate.
We provide full transparency, direct communication, and personal access to our CEO, who personally receives and oversees each request from the beginning. We do not compete on price. We compete on experience, trust, and genuine care.
We also understand what the IVF journey feels like, and we know how much emotion, hope, and pressure is carried in every step. Our purpose is to protect what matters most and to help more families grow, bringing more beautiful babies into this world.
What kind of training or background do your couriers have?
Our medical couriers undergo rigorous training directly with us. They are trained in cryogenic handling, chain of custody protocols, and regulatory compliance. Most importantly, they understand that what they are carrying is not just a shipment, but someone’s chance at building a family.
How do you ensure temperature control and biological integrity throughout the trip?
We use state-of-the-art cryogenic equipment and closely monitor temperature to ensure it remains at minus one hundred ninety-six degrees Celsius. As an added safeguard, we also monitor the weight of the tank as a secondary measure to confirm optimal conditions are maintained throughout the journey.
How do you navigate the complexity of international customs and fertility related legal regulations?
International fertility transport requires careful planning and respect for clinic and regulatory requirements. We work closely with a trusted team of lawyers and customs brokers to ensure full compliance. By allowing the proper time needed for documentation and coordination, we make sure each transport is organized, compliant, and handled without unnecessary stress.
What is the most challenging aspect of transporting reproductive material globally?
The most challenging aspect is ensuring nothing is rushed. Every country, clinic, and case is different, and rushing clinics or the transport process can be counterproductive. Taking the time to plan properly is essential to protecting reproductive material and supporting patients.
Have there been any particularly memorable or unusual transports you can share while respecting privacy?
There are many transports we remember deeply. We were the first courier company to enter Venezuela, which was a meaningful milestone for our team. We also remember the difficult transports involving intended parents’ last remaining embryos, long and stressful fertility journeys, and urgent relocations such as moving embryos out of Argentina due to sudden regulatory changes. Some of the most meaningful moments come after delivery, when families send us photos of the babies born. Those moments remind us why this work matters.
What is one thing you wish more patients understood about this part of their fertility journey?
Cryogenic transport should never be rushed. Clinics must follow strict regulations and protocols, and allowing the right amount of time for planning and coordination is critical. Rushing this step can create unnecessary risk, while patience helps protect what matters most.
How involved can patients be during the transport? Can they track the journey or stay in contact with your team?
Patients are kept involved and are always welcome to stay in contact with us throughout the process. We believe support means accessibility, being available to answer questions, provide reassurance, and offer a real human connection. Our goal is for patients to never feel alone during this step of their journey.
We’re grateful to Charlie and JiJi for offering insight into their approach and commitment to patient-centered transport.
Safe, compliant, and personalized reproductive cell transport plays a critical role in fertility care — particularly as treatment becomes increasingly global. Collaborating with trusted partners like CryoLogistics allows IVF Together to continue expanding the support available to intended parents.
